Still Skiing Pow

We continue to ski all the snow that fell in the recent storm. The day was full of pow turns and face shots. Michelle Parker gets a face full of snow in the trees.

High Fives and Smiles

With over a foot of fresh snow, and no one at the mountain today, an amazing day was had by all. It wasn't uncommon to see high fives at the bottom of each run, with laughter and ear to ear smiles all day.

Today after riding Tony Pavlantos helped a camper saw his board in half and make a split board.

High Winds

A storm system is rolling in and create very high winds up on the mountain. That didn't stop us from getting the wind blown snow in Laguna. Michelle Parker hikes with the wind at her back for some good turns.

Another Storm

Cloudy skies found us venturing around the woods today. We set up a log jib to rock ride redirect. Randall Stacy air to fakie tail grab, into the rock landing.

Split Mission

Today was another beautiful blue bird day. Since today was a transfer day and there weren't many campers we decided to go on an exploratory mission to check out a new zone. We had a small crew and were able to move quickly. The mission was a success and the new zone is lots of fun. Randall Stacy sets the skin track on the way out.

Window view

Riding and hiking everyday can be very tiring. There are days when I wake up in the morning and don't want to get out of bed. However when the view out the window is the sun rising on the mountains in the distance it makes it hard not to jump right up and start getting ready. Sunrise in the Andes.

Staff Party

Another beautiful sunny day allowed us to take a day venture to a run named Staff Party. This run has everything from an open bowl, to pillow lines, to trees, to a bamboo excursion on the exit. Everyone came out of the bamboo with a smile on their face after the great run we just had. Camper Lucas Zelnick completely demolishes the slope.

Reset Landings

Since it has snowed everything we have hit in the past few days has been filled in. We went back up to a jump we built the other day and shoveled it out. Randall Stacy sends it deep with a front 7 tail.

Fun in the Trees

It is hard to not to have a good day when the sun is out and there is new snow. Coach Michelle Parker popping through the trees, enjoying the fresh snow from last night.

Camper Lucas Zelnick has been coming into my room day after day begging me to show him photos that we shot and put them on my blog. He is very persistent, and does not leave me alone. To humor him I said I would post his photo.

Today we went on an adventure. Along the hike out there were certain points where we had to be careful. Getting back to the hotel well after dark left us exhausted but satisfied.

Blue Bird

Today was the sunniest day of the entire season so far. We had a jump that we built yesterday that we were able to get to first thing in the morning. Coach Andrew Burns showing the campers how it is done with a first try backside 7.

Dropping Cliffs

Good snow and sun today allowed us to take laps in the high alpine. Spent most of the day scoping lines and dropping cliffs. Pete Wentz points it of a drop.

Sunny Day

After a few days of stormy weather it finally cleared and we were able to see the entire mountain again. Took some tree laps early in the day while it was fresh, then headed up high once things started to track out down low.

More Snow

The storm continues, so the light on the mountain has remained marginal. Today was another day of jumping in low light. Coach Mauri Cambilla styling it out.

Jumping in Flat Light

Today with snow still falling the visibility was still low. This didn't stop everyone from building a jump and practicing tricks. Coach Andrew Burns sends it in the flat light.

Back to the Trees

With more snow falling today, the high alpine was still socked in. We stayed down low and sessioned some fallen trees. Dustin Eldridge boosting a method.

Vertigo

We went for a split boarding mission today. However once we get to the top the clouds rolled in. We had to slowly pick our way down in near blindness. Dustin Eldridge picks his way to the top through the rocks.

Find the Rider

The snow was still deep after the snow yesterday. We were able to get up Laguna and get some fresh turns. Chris Coulter shreds a chute.

Snow Storm

Snow fell all night and when I woke up this was the view that was out the window. Pow was super deep today. Everyone had a smile on their face all day.

Bonk

The snow started falling heavy today making it difficult to access the upper mountain. However visibility in the trees was still good. Camper James Haffner frontside 3 tree bonk.

Volcano

Today was very windy as another storm started to roll in. After going hard for the past few days I decided it would be a good idea to take one off. Here is a shot from yesterday of the volcano that is erupting in Chili.
